SATURDAY OCTOBER 10, 2015
ART WALK 12 to 9 PM

This Saturday, October 10th, the gallery will be open from 12 pm to 9 pm. This exhibition is on view through October 31st.
This exhibition depicts the artist’s exploration of identity, memory, place, and the passage of time. Parcero’s embellished self-portraits act as metaphorical vessels used to analyze the nexus between her personal experiences and the broader human condition. She touches on contemporary and pressing issues such as migration and immigration, as well as climate change, and responds to them in a poetic and thoughtful manner. The illustrations are taken from Ernst Haeckel’s early 19th century nature prints of flora and fauna. Together they become part of the instinctive bond that Parcero creates between human beings and living systems.
This work was just exhibited at the Museo Archivo de la Fotografia in Mexico and will also be part of Revolution and Ritual at Scripps College in Los Angeles. Parcero was born in Mexico and currently lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
